My Uncle Roy had a band in the Valley back in the day.
Played with Patsy Cline and Jimmie Fadley along the way.
On Saturday night you would find them, somewhere up Route 11 in an old dance hall.
Everybody knew his name, if you needed a band he was who you'd call.

Dogwood Brothers are Richmond, VA's premier classic country and Americana ensemble. The group's sound features guitars, fiddle, mandolin, drums, bass, piano, and pedal steel.
The group performs original tunes by lead singer and guitarist Braden Dogwood. In November 2022 the band released “Here for the Time” an EP of all original material. The group's latest EP "Valley Songs" was released Aug. 23, 2025.
In their live sets, the band also features songs that cover the rich heritage of country music. From the rough and rowdy textures of 1950s honky-tonk to the refined Nashville and Bakersfield stylings of the ensuing decades.
Dogwood Brothers regularly entertain folks in venues large and small in the Richmond region with frequent forays to destinations across the Commonwealth.
